Queen | Breakthru | Arquest 2023 Live Remix

 

 

Shortly before the release of `The Miracle` album, Queen were approached by the BBC to be interviewed as a four piece, with all band members in the same room - something which Queen hadn't done in a long time. The band quickly said yes, finding the idea refreshing and invigorating. 

What's more - they also agreed to do a live BBC session on the occasion! Knowing that the forthcoming album would not be promoted as extensively as the previous ones, the band took the invitation and performed a couple of the new songs in front of an audience.

'Breakthru' was a natural candidate for a live performance. The fast-paced track was bursting with energy even in the studio version. The band stripped the song down a bit, giving it a bit more raw sound and made it a true live spectacle with lots of audience interaction. It would surely have become a concert staple and fan favourite if only the band had played it more often!
